Alex is native of Lookout Mountain, TN, but has spent most of his adult life in Pennsylvania (2004-2014) and California. After graduating from Westminster Theological Seminary in Philadelphia, he and his family moved to State College, PA where they lead a chapter of Reformed University Fellowship (RUF) at Penn State for six years. In July of 2014, the Watlingtons moved to Los Angeles to begin a new chapter of RUF at USC. Alex enjoys golf, college football, movies, and exploring LA restaurants. In August 2002, Alex married his wife Becki. They have three children: Whit, Miles, and Monroe; they reside in the Pasadena area.
As a little girl, Joanna dreamed to be a missionary with her family wherever God lead her. In 2005, God brought her family to Journey South Bay, where she grew in her faith and God showed her how to live life as a daughter of the Lord, wife to her husband and best friend, Felix, and mother to her two boys, Felix III and Emanuel. There is no greater joy than to glorify God through helping children become disciples of Jesus and being a resource to parents who bring their families into the Journey Kids family! Having worked in the corporate setting, owner of a photography business and certified Holy Yoga Instructor, she brings creativity to engaging this next generation to love God and love others! The South Bay is her home, her mission and life.
For as long as Ben can remember he has had a heart to see people transformed by the power and love of God. Growing up in Sacramento, Ben was raised the youngest of three sons. By his sophomore year of high school, family changes resulted in Ben moving to South Florida where he would be affirmed in his call to ministry; as well as meet his highschool sweetheart Cristina, whom he married June 15th, 2019. Following high school, Ben has attended Biola University where he graduates with his Undergrad in Biblical and Theological Studies in May of 2020. Ben received the call to serve at JSB after serving the previous three years at Calvary Chapel Hope Central (Watts). Ben and his wife Cristina are passionate and eager to boldly bring the love of Christ to Redondo Beach through Journey South Bay!

I received the calling to lead worship as a teenager and have devoted my life to using all of my gifts and talents in honoring God’s calling on my life and helping others realize and fulfill God’s calling on their lives. My wife, Amy, and I are raising our amazing son, Ezekiel, in Harbor City, CA. Our family took a step of faith and left our previous church and joined the Journey South Bay (JSB) family in January 2019. It has become more evident that God led us here as we get more involved in ministry and build community here at Journey South Bay.

Lisa was born and raised in the South Bay. She has been attending Journey South Bay since 2008 and really enjoys serving in Journey Kids, Hospitality, and the Media Team. She loves to help people and feels incredibly blessed to be able to serve as the Administrative Assistant.
